Can night vision be prepared in home? How?

February 24, 2010 - 3:40 pm 3 Comments

can somebody tell me how can i prepare a night vision scope in home.what materials will be needed & how it will be prepared?on what principle does night vision binocular works?

True night vision requires an image intensifier tube and a high-voltage power supply. You can adapt many digital cameras and camcorders to infrared use, which will enable you to see in the "dark" with infrared illumination that you provide (infrared LEDs from Radio Shack being a ready means).

Many of these cameras have some sensitivity to infrared already, which you can determine by checking to see if you can see the light from a TV remote control in the camera. Further improvements in sensitivity can be gotten by removing the IR blocking filter from the camera, though this can be a tricky operation.

Cheap Night Vision Binoculars – What You Should Consider Before Buying Night Vision Goggles

February 17, 2010 - 2:37 pm No Comments

Are you looking for cheap night vision binoculars? Night vision binoculars are a great invention from modern technology, and despite the name, they can be used during the day as well. There are plenty of reasons one might need to buy one.

You should consider a few things though, before you go buying binoculars. Four of the things that you should be thinking about are listed in this article, and they will insure that you get the best product for your money.

The first thing to consider is the reason why you need or want to buy Night Vision Binoculars. You can use them at a number of activities, such as: camping, surveillance, bird watching, security, fishing, hunting and many others.

The purpose for which they’re going to be used should influence your choice. This way you buy something that fits your needs very well.

The reason to choose according to the activity is that different technology is used for different activities. Those without any real function are usually geared for the use of kids. They work properly, but you just can’t find the same features like you would in pricier and more advanced pairs of night vision binoculars.

Another thing to take into consideration is the quality. As it happens with any other product, different models from different companies have varying quality. That quality can be influenced by the durability or the craftsmanship, by the features or any other number of things.

If you know what you are going to use the binoculars for, it’s easier to find a product that is of the right quality for you.

The third thing you need to think about when you choose night vision binoculars, is what features you need for your particular purpose. The purpose dictates the features that you will need. The fourth thing to think about is the price. The number of features and the quality influence the price quite a bit.

You can get lots of hours of enjoyment out of your night vision binoculars. And that happens whatever the activity that you use them for: surveillance, fishing, hunting.

They’re a great tool to have at your disposal. If you want to buy a pair of night vision binoculars, make sure you think about all four aspects that I mentioned in this article, so that you can pick the pair that doesn’t leave you broke and satisfies your needs at the same time.

How can I make night vision goggles?

February 17, 2010 - 2:36 pm 1 Comment

I would like to make night vision goggles or Night Vision Binoculars. I have a pair of regular binoculars and a video camera. I would like to avoid making an infared device as I can’t find any infared light bulbs that are strong enough. Could you please provide step-by-step instructions as I do not have too much technical know-how but I don’t care about the camera or binoculars. I can also get other materials if needed.

Thank you.

Night vision is done with infra red waves.(Difference in temperature of different bodies)
Ordinary binoculars are not sensitive to Infrared waves.U can not change it
UI require infra red censers, convert signals to electrical, then form image.

What do you think of these night vision goggles?

Are they good enough to just see through the night or is it too much of a toy?

It is gods gift if its a proper night vision goggles or if you know how to use it. But its a toy in the hands of a inexperienced fellow.

How do night vision goggles/binoculars work?

January 13, 2010 - 1:46 am 3 Comments

Right, so just curious how they work and why they are so damn expensive.

Night vision goggles just amplify the light your looking at and allow you to see lower levels of light that the human eye cannot normally see. But they do require light to work, so if you were to look through them in complete darkness you still wouldn’t be able to see but even just moonlight is more then enough for them to work..

Then there’s thermal imaging which allows you to see heat signatures, Since these pick up heat not light they can work in total darkness but it can be difficult to see certain things with low heat from a distance.

They are so expensive because they are highly advanced technologies and anything optical related is going to be expensive because they require a lot of workmanship, even a pair of glasses can cost hundreds of dollars. Plus they are made almost exclusively for law enforcement and military operations they have to be very durable and made from high quality materials.

2x24 <a rel='nofollow' href=Night Vision Binoculars” />

The Viking 2×24 night vision binocular allows for incredibly detailed observation ability under the darkness of night. The Viking provides clear viewing in total darkness by utilizing a built-in IR infrared illuminator; when in use the illuminator emits a pulsing frequency that is so energy efficient it creates less battery drainage and prolongs battery life. The ergonomically designed rubberized body is surprisingly lightweight and can be taken on long expeditions both easily and comfortably. The Viking utilizes the revolutionary Eclipse Lens Cover System which uses flip-up covers that can be easily clipped back against the body of the binoculars and rotated out of the user’s viewing area while eliminating lens cap hassles. Pin holes in the lens caps allow the Viking to be used in the daytime when the caps are closed. Also featured is a dual diopter adjustment with central focusing knob and fully multi-coated optics. The Viking is backed by Yukon’s limited lifetime warranty.

How much costs IR binoculars? (not night visions, which only amplifies visible light)?

January 1, 2010 - 6:51 pm 3 Comments

”If you have to ask, you can’t afford it. Really.”
uh? wtf is that supposed to mean, I don’t get your logical reasoning

About 300 bucks.
Amplifiers are more expensive but if there is no light they won’t work.

Night vision goggles/binocular need advice please?

December 23, 2009 - 12:13 am 1 Comment

Hello and Happy Holidays to you!

I am wanting to purchase night vision goggles/binoculars for my Dad for Christmas and I have no idea what I should be looking for. He lives out in the country (town is 16 miles away) and this would be for looking for critters. We had bear tracks in our garden and of course for watching the deer and what have you. He also enjoys looking at the stars too. I realize the old saying "you get what you pay for" and as much as I love my Papa one has limits at least monetarily. So any advice on what I should be looking for, where to find some would be greatly appreciated.

Thank-you

Check at http://www.opticsplanet.com/ for a good variety of night vision devices. All types, all price ranges. They do a good job explaining the different uses of the different units. I will not attempt to advise which one to get, you know better than me what his needs are. You really should talk with him about this before purchasing since there are so many different models. Do a search for night vision, there are many other places to get them besides this one. I recommend this one because I have dealt with them several times. If you decide on a particular model do a search for that model, prices can vary quite a bit.
