Cctv Camera Systems – Your Private Security Guard

February 17, 2010 - 2:37 pm No Comments

Security is now a major and prime concern of the common people in the present vulnerable situation. But people who are financially not capable of appointing private security guards should not worry. To tackle this problem of security, various types of security camera have been launched. Security Cameras are now recognized and used as standard to monitor properties and to detect criminals. Surveillance video is claimed to be the most successful home monitoring device by its ways to protect oneself against theft and violence.

The scope Surveillance cameras in today’s world are not just restricted to Government office or banks, but CCTV cameras are being used in houses as well. Major metropolitan cities have installed several CCTV cameras throughout the city as a means of deterring and capturing criminals. These cameras are very helpful in the car parking zones to reduce car thefts. So much so is the advantage of security cameras that even cities like New York and Chicago are beginning to use surveillance cameras throughout the city.

Initially analogue CCTV systems were used but the digital phase is slowly taking them over now. These digital security cameras work by transmitting the data feed via Wi-Fi technology to the Internet. From the Internet a digital video recorder or a computer can view the feed with specially configured web browser.

Apart from the digital video security cameras, digital still surveillance cameras are also available. These cameras have motion detectors that alert the camera to take a photo when any activity occurs.

In today’s ever changing technological world, there are a wide variety of options to choose from in the security cameras segment as well. There are spy cameras that range from the smallest to the most powerful covert spy camera in the world. The micro hidden camera is an ultra-covert with 2GB of RAM for fast-action snapshot video. There is the night vision camera that captures footage even in complete darkness.

Many companies like Sony and LG are involved in manufacturing CCTV cameras and many companies like Arrow Security are involved in using these surveillance cameras. All one needs to do is to choose the one that best suits one’s requirements and act as private security guards.

where can I find a decent night vision camera for ghost hunting?

February 17, 2010 - 2:36 pm 2 Comments

I need a good Night Vision Camera for investigations, possibly for under $300!

You need an ectoplasm sensitive camera, not a night vision camera. Sheeze, these kids that didn’t watch Scooby Doo just don’t know how to hunt a ghost properly!

What is a good camera with Night Vision that is cheap? 10 POINTS FOR BEST ANSWER!!!?

Looking to buy a camera that has night vision since mine doesn’t. I’m into meteor showers and such and would like to film one, one of these nights. Thanks!

NONE

There are a few, very few camcorders that are 0 LUX and have an IR lamp that will provide lighting out to about eight to ten feet.

Since meteor showers are sending light to the view from hundreds to a thousand miles away, a video camera, even with with a rather fast lens may miss the show.

Night vision scopes "starlight" collects all the light that is available and then amplifies it. If you have ever watched the Military Channel, you may have noticed that the images produced by them are VERY noisy and not sharp at all.

The best way to record meteor showers is to place your camera on a tripod, frame your shot and then open the shutter and leave it open for a few seconds. Start there and see if there is enough light, if not, you will have to either open the aperture of your lens, lengthen the exposure time or increase the ISO.

Things To Consider Before Buying Wireless Hidden Cameras

January 20, 2010 - 10:14 pm No Comments

Security is something that is sometimes optional; however, there are times when you really have no choice about securing your home or office. This is especially true when your business is at stake. These days, security systems are incredibly complex but, in spite of that, they are worth the effort and will give you much more security than you ever dreamed imaginable. Some security systems, in fact, are so complex and advanced that no one can even tell the system is there. One way to do that is to add devices such as motion sensors and high tech wireless hidden cameras to your security plan.

For example, the stores you often shop in are outfitted with security cameras. Most likely, the entire store is fitted with wireless security cameras, pointed in every conceivable direction. You may be able to see the cameras but, these days, many are hidden wireless cameras you won’t be able to see. In fact, they may be hidden in unusual places and are incredibly small. Unless you’re caught for stealing, these cameras go unnoticed and you won’t ever detect their presence.

The best selling wireless hidden cameras are so small you can’t see them unless you already know they are there. Often hidden behind walls, the cameras poke through tiny holes in the wall. In some cases, the cameras poke through miniature holes or cracks in the ceiling. Businesses sometimes locate the cameras inside or behind various displays in the store so that, unless you look hard, you won’t see anything. Stores with lot’s of expensive items almost always have these kinds of cameras watching for shoplifters.

What about using wireless hidden cameras inside your house? You can use them as the sole aspect of your security or as a part of a bigger security package. One commonly used hidden wireless camera system is what some people call the “nanny camera”. They can watch your babysitter twenty four hours a day or can make sure your maid is doing her job without stealing any of your belongings. You can feel safer, knowing that your house and your family are secure.

Wireless hidden cameras may be purchased in various places; however, searching for a system on the web may be the easiest way to do it. Some of these websites offer entire security systems or even Night Vision Cameras you can use anywhere. You can price items on the web and do comparison shopping. If you feel ready to buy your system, you can buy them from Internet suppliers. If you don’t feel right about shopping on the Internet, find a nearby specialty store that sells such items. Do your homework in advance and ask as many questions as you can. These items aren’t cheap and you want to be completely prepared before you purchase one.

why doesn’t night vision camera unable to pick up color information from an object?

January 13, 2010 - 1:46 am 1 Comment

We see an object’s color because it reflects only the light of that particular color i.e particular frequency. for example green leaf reflects only green light but absorbs red and violet ends of the visible spectrum.
Night Vision Cameras do not use light rays of this spectrum as it is visible to human eye but gives another frequency of light and therefor the color cannot be predicted.

BMW2008-Night Vision Camera problem?

January 1, 2010 - 6:51 pm 1 Comment

I have a 2008 BMW 535xi. I customized this car with a lot of features including a Night Vision Camera. On June 25th 2007, I took the delivery of this car in Munich, Germany as per the European delivery program BMW has. I along with my family drove to Austria and Italy and dropped off the car in Rome and it was shipped back to Boston, MA. I took delivery of the car here in August 2007. Some time in December 2007 the night vision camera stopped working and I took an appointment with the dealer Herb Chambers and brought the car to them. The service engineer said that the camera lens was damaged and that it would not be covered under warranty. The cost to replace the camera would be $4400.00. I had paid $2200.00 for this option. The service engineer pointed to me the location of the camera. The camera was located in the same line as the fog lights with absolutely no protection for the delicate lens. This was the first time I was made aware of the camera’s location and my first response to the engineer was how could they place a camera in that location and not expect it to get damaged. Even the service engineer agreed that it was a wrong location for the camera. I believe a stone or a pebble hit the lens and damaged it.

I then wrote to BMW’s office in NJ and requested them to replace the camera under warranty. I was told to claim the damages thru insurance and that BMW would cover my deductible of $500.00. I then told them to document their offer and the customer service at BMW agreed to take one more look at the case. They also asked me if they did decide to replace it under warranty how was I planning to protect the lens from future damage which could again occur during normal driving conditions. I told them that I would put a clear glass or acrylic cover on it to protect the lens and I recommended that BMW should also look into this as this could happen to most of the cars equipped with this feature.

After a week I got a call from BMW again saying that they would now pay $2400.00 and I should pay the rest. I have shown this car to a couple of garages who repair BMW’s and their responses were that BMW has had a lot of problems with the fog lights placed in the same location because of the oncoming dust and the reflector lens have been damaged. Knowing that to put a camera in the same location was not such a good idea. One of the garages offered to design a cover for the lens if I decided to get it fixed.

Since this happened within six months of me driving the car and the mileage driven was approximately around 6000 miles I would like BMW to replace it under warranty. Since they are not willing to do so please advice me as to what course of action I can pursue.

Appreciate your help.

Sincerely,

Srinivas Konanki

cameras go bad very quik in the bmw but it depends but i prefer u 2 get the wARRENTY to pay 2 fix it and/or insurance company

Future Cars are Here

CNN has just featured the so-called driverless cars — all equipped with sensors, radars, cameras, computers and communicators that allows them to maneuver its way on roads and through traffic with very little human assistance.

Of course these driverless vehicles still have the usual automobile parts like the Mercedes radiator. The several components which will serve as the “replacement” for the driver are the parts that are incorporated like, as earlier mentioned, the sensors.

These sensors are placed on the several vital parts of the vehicle to be able to monitor the movements of the car. Many cars of today are already fitted with sensors for various purposes; some to check what the car is doing when the wheels turn and another monitors the movements of the wheels. There are also brake sensors that time the spin of each wheel and sensor on the airbags which will trigger the airbags if and when an impact occurs.

Not only are these sensors fitted to watch over the behavior of the car and how systems work or react with another, the sensors are also there to monitor the actions and behavior of the driver as well. It studies the driving style employed by the driver like the hardness of pressing upon the gas pedal and the manner of turning the wheel.

The radars are designed to monitor the outside movements. Back-up applications are the most known and most common of these component. These are the ones that warn you if the car is getting dangerously close to colliding with other cars or even to people. There is also the active cruise control which allows the driver to set a maximum speed for the car and maintain distances from the other cars.

Although most of these cruise control systems are designed on highway speed mode, Continental Tevis has actually designed a system for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class that will work to slow speed mode and even put the car to a stop. So if the traffic situation is shifty, there is no need to push the brake pedal, the car will be able to stop and go for you. This system of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class will lessen usual crashes of tailgating.

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class line also uses infrared camera and infrared light source for better night vision. The actual road condition can be viewed in green-and-black on a monitor on the dashboard. Furthermore, these cameras will monitor if the vehicle starts to go beyond the bounds of the lane that it occupies. By sounding an alarm, the driver will be warned of this occurrence.

The information that are received by the sensors, the radar and the camera are fed in to the computer which will in turn calculate and assess the proper action that the car should make when it faces certain conditions. The computer also functions as a memory device which stores the information it has received so that in the event that a collision or a crash occurs, investigators can easily determine what went wrong.

In some cars, the computers can actually manipulate and control the actions of the other parts of the vehicle to further prevent accidents.

Another of these devices is the Global Positioning System (GPS) or the telematic system, which enables the driver to communicate with other people and even to computers especially when the need arises. This system uses satellites to be able to know and ascertain the exact location of a car. Studies are still going on for the advancement to give this system the capacity to communicate directly with one another.

The overall benefit of this new technology on cars is of course lessening road accidents and taking care of the passengers on board cars. These driverless automobiles hold the promise of higher speeds and lower fuel consumption.
