Night Vision Equipment

Some rumored topic about the Night Vision goggles that are included with the Prestige edition of the Modern Warfare 2 game. They are told to be “fully funtioning” however these Jakks Pacific night vision goggles seem to have alot in common with the MW2 goggles. They both appear to use the infared LED lights. However we may not know just how good the MW2 Night Vision goggles are until November 10, 2009.

Nature as seen through a first generation night vision device (starlight scope). All shots are made with the use of an infrared illuminator. Starlight scopes work by gathering ambient light (from stars and moon) and infrared light (from the IR illuminator). The light is gathered by a special layer of material that ejects electrons when struck by photons. The electrons pass through a glass vacuum tube through which they are accelerated by electrical fields (powered by the battery). The electrons then strike a phosphorous membrane at speeds higher than their initial speeds (since they’ve been accelerated by electrical fields). The phosphorous membrane in turn releases more photons into the eyepiece than have originally been gathered by the intaking membrane since the electrons that knock out the photons have been accelerated. This is how night vision light aplicfication works. This is totally different from thermal vision which senses the “blackbody radiation” – the heat signature of an object or digital night vision where a CCD sensor is used to convert infrared light to the visible spectrum.

“Appearing during the first hour and a half of the program, UFO researcher Ed Grimsley was joined by technology analyst Charles Ostman to discuss incredible UFO sightings and battles seen using night vision goggles. “They’re so unbelievable that I want the world to know they’re there and I want the world to see the truth,” said Grimsley, who introduced Ostman to the concept of using night vision goggles to spot UFOs.”

This clip deals with the issue of why sightings are not being reported by major countries or universities and why the UFO cloaking systems can be defeated by commercial grade night vision technology.

This clip explains some of the UFO sightings in Ed’s past and how exactly he came to discover night vision and its benefit to witnessing these events. My favorite part and reason for uploading this is when Ian questions the UFO weaponry and post-battle debris.
