Theft Park Firewood Thermal Image (Hot Earth/Dark Nights)

September 15, 2009 - 2:30 am No Comments

Wildlife isn’t the only thing I see when hiking through the city parks at night with a thermal imager, Night Vision Equipment, etc. I often get footage of vandalism, people having sex, doing drug deals, police beating up and steeling dope from the drug dealers and taking advantage of the prostitutes etc., etc., etc. Although most of that content isn’t related to or appropriate for this channel I am often asked about it so I found a clip I can post here. This is the all too common activity of stealing firewood from a city park for a bush party. These guys made several trips to the pile before I started recording. I hope they met some drunk bimbos. I’d hate to think they are ruining it for the rest of us for nothing.

Deer Inflamed Hoof Thermal Footage (Hot Earth/Dark Nights)

August 27, 2009 - 7:54 pm 5 Comments

This deer is a member of the Bravo Clan, a city dwelling heard that I come across on a regular basis while wildlife prowling. Thermal imaging shows that its right/rear hoof is inflamed from aliment or injury. The deer also walks with a notable limp. The last time I encountered this deer it appeared considerably improved.

Mystery Contact Thermal Image (Hot Earth/Dark Nights)

August 18, 2009 - 7:43 pm 3 Comments

This is one of my first wildlife encounters with the Thermal imager so it looks a little “Blair Witch project”. I often spot things with the imager while driving. This is in the middle of nowhere at 02:15am. I have the imager on its side at first so I can see it better while in the vehicle. Good work if you figure out what the contact is before it moves.

The Navigator is an economic thermal imager. It provides crisp, clear thermal imagery in total darkness and light fog or smoke. It features the same thermal imaging technology found in many of FLIR’s most sophisticated maritime systems, but is packaged for users who have navigation as their primary application. Unlike other night vision systems that require low amounts of light to generate an image, the Navigator needs no light at all.
